The 5th Annual JUNETEENTH ATLANTA PARADE &
MUSIC FESTIVAL is coming. The exciting,
fun-filled, educational Juneteenth Atlanta movement
provides a positive experience for all ages with
a 3-day Black History Music Festival, Afrocentric
marketplace, artists market, multi cultural
cuisine, a children’s area and family activities. It’s
June 17 - 19, 2016 from 1pm - 9 pm daily, at
Morris Brown College.
The fun begins on FRIDAY, June 17th, with the all
day black history music festival, then on
SATURDAY, June 18th at 12noon a PARADE of red,
Black, and green flags, black history
floats, MARCHING BANDS, color guards, majorettes,
organizations and businesses will march down
MLK Jr. Drive, in honor OUR VETERANS. The parade
starts from MOZLEY PARK and ends at
MORRIS BROWN COLLEGE!!
On SUNDAY, June 19th, we’ll continue with a
FATHER'S DAY CELEBRATION and a AFRO
FASHION SHOW with a AFROCENTRIC SWIMSUIT
REVIEW.
Juneteenth Atlanta offers Black History moments
and interactive educational opportunities provided
by historians from the Atlanta Branch of Association
for the Study of African American Life and
History founded by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, father of
Black History Month.
Most importantly, come learn about the resilient
Morris Brown College and its plans for the future.
We are accepting active participation from the
community. To donate, volunteer or register for the
parade, or to create a Black History float, our website
is www.juneteenthatl.com.
Please support our efforts!! Families especially are
invited to get involved with this phenomenal
movement to have an event that celebrates the
awesome achievements of African
descendants. We invite everyone to come and join
